One more for today....Liam

Wanted to put Liam's measurements on here, I have them saved on my phone but in case something happens I want it here too. :)

Hospital measurements:
July 16, 2012 - 7lb 10oz, 22.5"
July 17, 2012 - 7lb 3oz
Doctor Office Measurements:
July 26, 2012 - 7lb 3oz, 21" - nurse said they stretch them out more to measure at hospital so he didn't shrink. Haha.  They said they never get as long as hospital does.
August 15, 2012 - 8lb 10oz, 21.5"
August 30, 2012 - 9lb 12oz
September 18, 2012 - 10lb 12oz, 24.25"
October 18 - 11lb 14oz
November 13, 2012 - 12lb 14oz, 25"

I will probably take him in next week and have him weighed, his next check up is not until January but J has allergy shots every week so I will ask them to weigh him then so I can see how much he has grown.  He is getting too big too fast.

We started on cereal a couple weeks ago.  The doctor said I could start anytime but there was no rush.  If he was satisfied with just liquid I could wait.  Well, I wanted to see if maybe it would help get him to sleep ALL night...  We have been teething I do believe - chewing and drooling like CRAZY, getting up a couple times a night when he was just getting up once.  So, I thought we would see if cereal helped...  At first, it wasn't helping at all. He would still get up twice and I was about to give up.  Then the past 2 nights - I have mixed it a little thicker and made a little more and guess what???  We go to bed at 9 and sleep until 530-630.  Yesterday morning I had to wake him up to leave.  Today he woke up at 530 - time i was getting up anyways.  So, we are hoping this is a start of a new thing.  However, he may have slept all night the last two nights but I have been up more than normal...  Checking on him to make sure he is ok.. Haha.  Im hoping once I get use to him not getting up I will be able to sleep through the night.  I have a video monitor (best investment I made, I LOVE IT) so when I wake up and wonder why he hasn't woke up and if he is ok, I just zoom in and I can actually see his chest rise and fall with his breathing so I know he is ok.  I dont have to get out of bed, go in his room and risk waking him.  And its always nice to be able to always see him if you want. :)

I think I am caught up for a while...  I will leave you with a few pictures.

Love this pic.  Haha.  Poor kid.

This was the day after he turned 4months.  Love him!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Catch up....

Trying to get myself caught up to the present...

July:
Liam was born, baseball season was well under way, lots of time in the sun (don't worry, I was away from public during this).  Haha.  My poor dad and stepmom had to deal with seeing me in a bathing suit, they said it didn't bother them but I am not so sure...  :)  Love them!  Cookouts with so much good food, I can't believe I didn't gain a TON of weight during my pregnancy - between all the family cookouts and the ice cream cravings.  I did to a lot of work out at my dad's cabin so Im sure that helped keep the pounds off.

This picture is part of what I worked on out at my dads.  And before you think I am totally crazy, most of this was already there, we just weeded, planted some new stuff and mulched.  But I was very proud of it and it was a LOT of hard work.  I got scolded many times for being out there working on it but I promised them if i got tired I would stop and I wouldn't do more than I knew I could handle...

August:
All Star Baseball, Maternity leave, more baseball, school started.  I still can't believe my baby is in 6th grade.  I know, he isn't a baby anymore but he will always be my baby.  I love him so much!!

Pciture of my boys on the first day of school.  Im not sure how I ever got so lucky....

We also took a last minute/spontaneous trip to Florida the week before school started.  DH called me from work on a Wednesday morning and said he really want to get away for a long weekend.  I told him he was crazy, we can't pack up and just go, we have a baby that is less than a month old!!  BUT, it would be a great time - I was already off work.  Haha.  So, as crazy as I thought it was after hearing my DH tell me just how bad he really needed some time away with us I decided to start packing.  How I ever got everything packed and didn't forget something REALLY important I dont know but about 3 hours later we were on the road to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida...  I LOVE that place.  Liam did awesome on the ride down! Once there, that was a bit of a different story.  We stayed in a hotel since everything was so last minute and we were only there 4 nights.  Liam did not sleep so great - I knew he wouldn't after being in a car for 10 hours.  The weather was cool and rainy.  It was boat week so it was so crowded - I HATED IT!  If I could go back and do it again, I would have stayed home. Haha.  But we did have some quality family time and Liam had his first trip to the beach.

Liam at the beach in Ft. Walton, I think he likes it... :)
J swimming at the pool at the hotel...  Even though it was first part of August it was only about 80 degrees while we were down there so it was pretty cold in the pool!  I sat on the edge with my feet in the water and about froze, I dont know how he was in there...

September:
Back to work, new job, and sending my baby to daycare....
My baby turned 2 months.
While I was off on maternity leave I got a phone call asking me if i was interested in a job.  Before I had Liam I had the opportunity to apply for this job (it was the same job I was doing but they were moving the people to a central location instead of spread out at different buildings).  Basically, my job was going away and being streamlined to a higher level.  Applying for the job was not a promotion, it was just a security matter if you want to call it that but since i was in the middle of my pregnancy the thought of leaving the company i worked for to go to a new one was not a good option.  I had leave saved with my current company, I had met my deductible with my current insurance so it was hard to start over on all that.  So, I passed up the oportunity and hoped once my job moved the current place I was at would find SOMETHING/ANYTHING for me to do.  Well, while I was off the other company called me and offered me the job.  At this point I had already gotten passed the major thing holding me back - starting over on my deductible while still pregnant.  All my major expenses were over and starting over wouldn't be so bad.  If I would have something come up I would probably kick myself in the @$$ but with the uncertainty of what I would be doing at my current job when I came back I decided to go for it.  I figured up when I would be returning to work and told them I would like to give a 2 week notice when I got back so my start date was Sept 11.  Once I had signed all the papers and everything I emailed my boss my resignation letter and stated i was to return to work on such and such date but would like to use the remaining leave I had during my 2 week notice.  They responded and told me my notice was effective immediately...I was shocked - hated that I had been with a company for almost 5 years and this was how it was ending.  Anyways - I got an extra 2 weeks off work with my little man so I didn't get too upset.  And I like the new company I am with - they have been great!
September 11 came WAY to fast!! That morning I dropped my baby off to a very special person and headed to work.  One of my biggest anxieties when I found out I was pregnant was where I was going to take my baby when I went back to work.  When I had J I worked part-time evenings/weekends and family or friends always watched him.  He didn't go to daycare until he was already in K, maybe even first grade!!  Actually, I think he was in first grade anyways, the thought of dropping my baby off to someone with a bunch of other kids running around where he wouldnt get attention and was just another baby stressed me out.  Staying home was not an option, for a few reasons.  So, where do I go??  And then I saw a post on facebook a friend was going to start babysitting in her home for a small number of kids!  PERFECT!!  Still I had anxiety about leaving him, you know no one can take care of your baby like you. Haha.  Now, when I drop him off I have no anxiety.  I see the love and attention he gets every day!  The other kids there - love him and he loves them.  You can see how happy he is and that makes going back to work so much easier.  Now don't get me wrong, I would love to be home cuddling him everyday but since I can't I couldn't have picked a better place for my little man.

One of the many pictures I have received while I am at work letting me know my baby is happy....  :)

Liam and Grace (one of the kids at daycare) - you can see in his face how much he loves her and how much she loves him.  All the kids at daycare love him.  I have been told when he is not there they ask about him and he is missed.  <3

October:
For some reason October is a blur of what went on. I know we had soccer, baseball clinic, and basketball practice started I think....  It may have started in Nov.
My baby turned 3 months...

November:
I turned 31...
Basketball in full swing!!!  If its not practice its a game.
We celebrated Thanksgiving - a few times!!
J got contacts!  He is growing so much!!  Before too long he is going to be taller than me.  He has about 2-3 inches before he catches me and will pass me in no time after that.

December:
So far December has been busy with basketball, getting ready for Christmas and trying to take time to spend some quality time with my boys.

PS - I did not proof read this so if something doesnt make sense sorry... :)

Birth Story.....I know, its about time.

I can't believe that its getting close to 5 months since my little man made his appearance into this world but I am finally going to sit down and tell you all about that day....  More so for my memory than anything else - so be prepared for a long post.  I dont blame you if you dont read it...

Monday July 16 - This day started out as a normal day, I got up and went to work.  I was 38 weeks along so I was trying to get everything organized and ready for my time off.  I had a lot of stuff left to take care of, we were in the middle of upgrading computers at work and I was the lead on getting that taken care of along with my normal functions.  But I thought I have 2 weeks, plenty of time to get everything taken care of, brief the people that would be taking care of things while I was gone, no worries.  At the end of the day, I went home - everything was going along normal - no contractions.   I got home and told my hubby that I wanted to clean the car - inside and out so I could get the car seat installed and ready to go. My plans for the evening - clean car, pack bags for hospital and install carseat.  I should have known since I planned to do all this and be ready to go he would decide if I was ready so was he.  Haha.
We got the car cleaned, car seat & base installed, and bags pretty much packed.... I had been having a few contractions during all this but nothing different from what i had been having the previous couple of weeks. About 6:30 I went to Dairy Queen to get some food, I was too tired after cleaning the car to mess with fixing supper.  While I was in the drive thru I noticed that my contractions were a little bit stronger and thought to myself - you over did it and need to get home and relax.  After I ate I took a shower and decided I would finish packing my bags - I got a phone call from my mom and I told her I was having some contractions but nothing major, I was going to go to bed soon and I would talk to her tomorrow.  My stepmom text me not too long after that and asked if I had that baby....  I told her no, I was getting ready to go to bed.  At about 9 I went and laid down and the contractions were getting stronger - still I thought I had just over done it and that was my body telling me to stop.  Haha.  I laid there for a while and poor hubby kept asking, do we need to go to the hospital???  I kept telling him no but they kept getting stronger so finally I said, I think we need to go to the hospital.  His response - "ARE YOU SERIOUS??"  Haha.  So, I get out of bed - change, I had on shorts and a tank top(It was July after all).  About 9:45 I text my mom and told her I was going to the hospital.  She said she would meet us there. I got some clothes out of the dryer that I wanted to take with me, put on some make-up. I figured since I was at the hospital for 18 hours before I had my first son, I have PLENTY of time..  My husband didn't think so, he couldn't believe I was putting on make-up.  Haha.  We woke up my son.  As we were leaving I text my dad and in-laws, told them I was going to the hospital and they could come whenever - no need to rush, I figured I would be there for a while but they insisted on coming right away.  I can't remember who all else we text, I know my best friend and sister were there.
So, we are in the car driving through town and get stuck behind a REALLY slow driver - contractions are getting stronger - hubby is driving/panicking - so he passes a car in the MIDDLE of town!!!  Haha.  I told him he didn't have to drive like a crazy person we were ok.  Well, about half way to the hospital - "Babe, I think my water just broke"  Hubby - "Do I need to drive faster?" Haha.  Driving through the middle of Jasper, we pass 2 vehicles!  I can't believe we didn't get pulled over. I told him he was going to get pulled over, he said he would stop when we got to the hospital...  Once we pulled up to the hospital he jumps out of the car and runs in and tells them his wife is in labor - soon I follow behind him.
At this point my contractions are REALLY strong.....and seem to be REALLY close together.  The lady at the front desk in the ER has me sit in a wheelchair and says they will be with me shortly.  After a few minutes - seeing the pain on my face she says she is going to see if they are about ready.  Finally - they wheel me back to a room where they have to ask me all the questions to get me checked in.....  UGH!!  Trying to answer questions during an intense contraction - really???  Please just get me to a room I am thinking.  Finally the other lady in there said she was going to take me up we could finish it later, THANK YOU!! Haha.  Once we get up to the room they ask me if I want to go to the restroom and change into my gown - I think to myself, do they really want to know if I want privacy considering what they are getting ready to see??  :)  I tell the nurse I am fine changing right here - although changing during a contraction, not so easy.
They get me in the bed and start hooking me up and asking questions - seeing how much pain I was in she decided to go ahead and check me - I was 5cm...  Holy COW!!  At this point I was scare to death I waited too long and wasn't going to be able to get an epidural - all you women out there that go thru this with nothing you are AMAZING!!  I dont know that I could do it, I guess if i had to I wouldnt' really have a choice but if I have a choice, please give me something!!  The nurse put in the orders but had to get blood drawn and paperworks done before epidural... :( PLEASE HURRY is all I kept thinking.  This was say - 1030-1045??  Only an hour after I had told my mom I was getting ready to head to hospital...
The lab came to draw blood and right on her heels was anthesiology to do the epidural!  As soon as the epidural was in the nurse checked me - 9cm!!  5 more minutes and i probably wouldn't have gotten my epidural!  The doctor came in, have I mentioned how much I love my doctor, the nurse (which was a girl I know from Loogootee) told her I was 9cm so she checked me too and said I was ready to push.  There was a girl next door as well that was about ready to push so it was a toss up who to stay with, my doctor was doctor for both.  After she checked me she decided we would start pushing.  I have no clue what time it is at this point, I am guessing 1120-1130??  Did I mention my wonderful mommy met us in the room a few minutes after we had gotten in there - I dont know how i would have done it without her.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my husband but there were a few times I thought he was going to pass out.  Haha. And she has been there with me during delivery of both my boys - she is always there when I need her...
So, we start pushing....almost there, little man's heart rate is falling a little bit.  Dr tells me I have one more push and if I dont get him out she is going to use the vaccuum becuase she didn't like his heart rate going down...  I push and it wasn't quite enough so out came the vaccuum - which afterwards she said she didn't really need it but better safe than sorry, I agree.  So,  July 16, 2012 at 11:51 PM William Keith Strange AKA Liam joined our family.  He was 22 1/2 in, 7lbs 10oz of perfection.   I fell in love with him the day I saw a postive pregnancy test but the moment they put him on my chest - he had me....  It is so hard to explain the love a mother has for her baby...
Everything happened so fast!!  From the time I text my mom to the time Liam was here was 2hrs 6 min - I know they say your second one is faster but I was not expecting that.  Haha.

My son, all of our parents, my sister and her girls, my sister-in-law, and best friend were all there to help us welcome this special little man into the world - although everything happened so fast the only people I saw once we got to the hospital were my mom and hubby.

Sleep:  What sleep??  I am SO tired but when I lay down at night I can't sleep.  And i have been getting heartburn at night so that doesn't help everything else. :)  I guess its just my bodies way of preparing me for little sleep once the baby arrives.

What I'm Looking Forward to: Seeing my other son.  He has been gone since Father's Day with his dad on vacation.

I am going to the doctor Thursday I will be 35 wks 5 days.  Then around 38 weeks I will go back and they will do another ultrasound to see how big baby is measuring.  He is measuring big but I think he just has a big head....  My dad's side of the family has big heads...  I can't believe it - my app on my phone says I have 34 more day until my due date!!  WOW!

I think after we get everything delivered this week/beginning of next week we will be ready to meet our little man - only thing left is decide on a name... :)

Baby Shower

Over the weekend my mom, step-mom, mother-in-law, sister, & best friend hosted a baby shower for me - it was amazing!  They did such a good job, everything was great - decorations, food, company, gifts for the little guy!  I am so thankful to have such wonderful people who took the time not only to plan it but those that took the time to attend as well.  This baby is very loved already and he isn't even here yet!  :)  I had so much stuff after the shower when I got home i was a little overwhelmed and had no clue where to put anything.  So, I started cleaning - my poor house has been neglected lately.  I have been very tired lately and not had the energy to get much done.  My husband has been working more at the pizza place and my son has been on vacation with his dad so the house has not gotten much attention.  You would think with those 2 being gone and me in and out of the house (I dont know what I have been up to but I haven't been home) it would make the house easier to keep clean but it seems like when you are running in and out is when it is the worst! This week my son starts All Star baseball - he has a practice game tonight, then games Tues, Wed, Thurs & Sat of this week.  I plan to take him to the Daviess County fair on Friday so this week we won't be home either.  Maybe I can get some cleaning done tonight and tomorrow before the games start - tonight doesn't start until 730 and tomorrow is 8 at Jasper!!
Back to the shower, I wish I had some pictures but unfortunately I didn't take my camera so I am going to have to wait and see if I can get some from the others that were there that took pictures.  There were plenty taken - I couldn't see by the time they were done from all the flashes!  Haha.  The baby got so many nice gifts - I can't wait until he gets here so he can actually use them!!  I pretty much ordered everything I didn't get and still needed with the money/gift cards I received at the shower.  Once all of this comes in - we should be completely ready.
I also ordered the furniture for the baby room today.  I had ordered it a while back and when I got it the crib didn't match the finish of the changing table and dresser (which didn't end up matching each other either - I will get to that in a minute.)  When I got the stuff home I put the changing table together and then got the crib out to start putting together but noticed right away it didn't match my changing table very well.  When I bought it, it wasn't a set but i read reviews and people said they had bought these 3 pieces together and the crib matched perfectly.  WRONG!  They were both espresso finish but the crib had a cherry tint to it and the changing table didn't.  So, I took the crib back and was searching to find a crib that matched.  In the meantime, I got the dresser out and was putting it together.  The directions had me putting the drawers together first - I got to the knobs and realized they didn't match the changing table ones and they were suppose to.  So I got online and looked at my order and sure enough I had ordered a 4 drawer dresser and was in the process of putting together a 5 drawer dresser - they sent me the wrong one!  So, I called and they said i could bring it all back!  Now the new stuff is on its way - this time it was a SET so everything will match!  I hope!  Haha.  Hated buying it over the internet not being able to actually see it but since it is a set I feel like it should be ok.  Once it all gets here I will be able to put everything together and get the baby room organized - then we will just wait for the baby... :)

What I'm Looking Forward to: My baby shower - next week and meeting my little guy!

Update....

I need to get better at keeping this blog updated...  I know it hasn't been that long but I want to document this pregnancy and it is going to be over before I know it and haven't been very good about weekly updates like I wanted!  And I have REALLY been slacking on belly pictures, I can't remember the last time I took one!  It is really funny all the different remarks you get from people when you are pregnant...  Its like everyone has something to say and some of them you wonder if they really understand that you are hormonal and some of the stuff they say rubs you the wrong way??  I had one guy I work with come up and tell me how fat I am getting and how he feels SO sorry for me because I look completely miserable!!  Really???  I mean, I know I am pregnant so I am gaining some weight but FAT??  And I actually feel REALLY good or at least I thought I did, maybe I don't look how I feel? Haha.  Besides being tired, I am actually really enjoying this... People keep asking me if I am ready for it to be over with and I have very mixed emotions about that.  Part of me loves having this little guy kicking and flipping and whatever else he is doing in there and the other part of me can't wait to hold him in my arms and watch him grow.  Its a bittersweet feeling because I am so excited to meet him but love being pregnant and this will probably be the last time I experience this so I want to cherish every last second of it - BUT after my ultrasound yesterday a bigger part of me is hoping he comes a few weeks early...  I will explain more later on that. :)
We are getting ready for our annual family reunion at my dad's cabin this weekend - love this time of year!  A whole weekend filled with good food, family, and getting away!  The cabin is only 5 min from town but it feels like a completely different world when you are there.  I am working half day and then running to Harley Davidson with the hubby to get my dad a Father's Day present.  Then we will head out to the cabin.
Yesterday I had my 34 week appt and they did an ultrasound for a growth scan since the last one they did the baby was measuring big....  I was hoping I would go in this time and they would tell me the great news that he had slowed down.....  No such luck!  Aly - my favorite u/s tech was running over my belly initially showing us that the head was down, then went along the spine to show where he curled up, over his cute little butt (by the way its def a boy! :)) to his cute little toes that were pressed up against his forehead.  Poor little guy looked so cramped in there!!  Haha.  Then she started measuring - to find the baby's weight they measure the head, waist, & top leg bone - and she starts laughing....  I look up at the screen and in the corner it says the wk/day that corresponds with the measurement - she is measuring the head and it says 38w4d.......  NOT a good sign!!  So then she goes to the belly and leg and flips to another screen that tells what the weight estimate is.....Are you ready for this???  I wasn't!!  5lb14oz!  She remeasured the waist and got 5lb9oz better but not really...  I have 6 weeks left.  Can you say total panic mode???  That was me!  I read on my baby bump app on my phone the baby should weigh 4.25lb right now! And will gain 1/2 lb each week the next 4 weeks.  Aly tried to get some cute pics of the baby for me but he was so crammed in there and had feet and hands over his face so she couldn't get any really good ones.  She did see LOTS of hair!  And a chubby cheek...
So, as I am sitting here trying to hold back my tears from absolute panic I sit and wait for the doctor to come in...  Have I mentioned, I totally LOVE my doctor!  She is so sweet!  She is totally not concerned with the size the ultrasound is showing.  She said the head is the only thing measuring big and since the u/s measurements are taking 3 2d measurements and computing them into a 3d measurement they aren't competely accurate.  And he could just have a slightly bigger head and that can throw it all off.  She doesn't think this baby will be much bigger than Jayden was - I was hoping for a little smaller but as long as he is healthy....  She is going to do another u/s at 38 weeks to see where we are at on size, part of me is hoping I dont make it to that u/s....  Haha.

29 Weeks & Whats been going on....

Last Thursday DH and I took off work a little early to meet the installers at our house to get our new carpet installed.  It is SO nice!!  I would have liked a shade lighter but DH wanted this one - I have to let him have his way sometimes. :)  Haha.  After they were done with that we worked really hard to get the house put back together, it was a mess!  Having furniture from 3 bedrooms in your kitchen and living room is a disaster!  We got most of it put back where it belongs, the baby's room is still empty and we still have an old dresser and my son's toy box in the kitchen...  :(  Hoping to get that out of there really soon but they are both too heavy for me to help move - especially the toy box.  DH wanted to get rid of the toy box but my dad made it for my son so that is something that I will NEVER get rid of!
Friday morning we got up early to head to Kentucky with some great friends to do the Bourbon Trail.  We were picked up at our house in a limo around 7 and headed to Kentucky.  It was a very fun trip and so nice not to have to worry about driving or navigating.  Just tell the driver where you want to go and sit back and relax.  The Bourbon Trail consists of 6 brewery's - to hit all 6 you have to split it up into 2 days so we planned to hit the 3 northern brewery's and if we had time there is a 7th that is not part of the Bourbon Trail that we were going to go to.  We did not make it to the 4th one, we didn't even make it to the 3 we originally planned.  Haha.  We first went to the Jim Beam distillery, it was beautiful.  After we finished there is was already lunch time so we went to a restaurant that someone at Jim Beam recommended.  By the time we go done there it was already 1pm and most of the tours ended between 3 & 4 so we were pressed for time.  We headed to the Makers Mark distillery - this was a WAY better tour than Jim Beam.  Jim Beam was full of history and didn't really SHOW you much.  Makers Mark however, they took you through the whole process of making their bourbon and you got to actually see it all happen.  It was really neat to be able to see the process go from grain to putting the finished bottles in boxes to be shipped out.  They hand dip the top of each bottle in wax so in the gift shop you could buy undipped bottles and they let you dip it.  DH got a bottle and dipped it - he says he will NEVER open this bottle, we will see!  By the time we got done there it was too late to make it to the last tour at the 3rd place so we headed to Joes Crab Shack for supper...   Big mistake - I HAVE BEEN CRAVING CRAB LEGS EVER SINCE!!  Ugh.  It was SO good!  This trip was mainly to celebrate 2 guys birthday so one of the girls went to tell the waitress...  Poor guys!  Haha.  One had to put on a shark fin and the other a grass skirt and coconut bra and run around the restaurant while everyone sang happy birthday!  After supper we headed home. It was a long day but SO fun!  Can't wait to go back and finish the tours!
Since we got home late my son stayed all night with my dad and step-mom, they were helping my step-brother and his family move out of their house and didn't get home until 2:30!!  Saturday I went to my dads and picked up my son and came back to town to get ready for his baseball game.  He got me a Mother's Day present and was DYING to give it to me!  I got him to hold off until after the game but that was about as long as I could keep him from giving it to me.  He got me a card and money to take me to see the movie Avengers, not sure this was actually for me!  Haha.  So we made plans and went to the movies on Sunday.  The movie was good and I always enjoy spending time with my son and DH.
Monday I took off work early to go to Hagertown, IN with DH to deliver his MMA gym equipment to some people that were buying it.  THAT WAS A LONG DRIVE!!  3 hours each way in an uncomfortable box truck when you are 29 weeks pregnant!  But the gym stuff is gone so it was totally worth it!!  We got back just in time to pick JJ up and take him to his baseball game.  They play 6 innings or 1 hr 45 min whichever one comes first - we were in the 5th inning with about 10 minutes left before we ran out of time and were down 6-11 with 2 outs and JJ was up to bat with bases loaded.  I was SO nervous!!  He got up there and hit a line drive between 1st and 2nd - I so thought he was going to get out and that would be the end of the game...  Not very optimistic, I know....  BUT he made it to first and when they threw the ball to first the kid dropped it and with that one little mistake JJ and the 3 players that had already been on base all made it home!!!  We were back in the game!!  10-11!  It was SO exciting!  All the kids were giving JJ high fives and chest bumps!  We ended the game 13-11 and some very happy kids!!  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE watching all the games but when something like that happens it just makes it that much better! :)
Tuesday we worked 10 hours (trying to make up some time from taking off early Monday) and then went home to meet my in-laws and take them to supper.
Wednesday - I am working 10 hours again today...  UGH!  This girl is tired!!
Thursday - I will only be working 8 hours but will still have to get here SUPER early because I have a doctor's appt at 3.  I will update any news after the doctor appt about the baby.  It will be a routine appt - weight, measure stomach, ask me if I am having any problems, see you in 2 weeks kind of thing...  I can't believe how close it is getting.  Part of me feels like this pregnancy is taking forever and I have been pregnant for SO long and the other part of me feels like it is going SO fast!  I can't wait to meet this little guy that is dancing around or maybe he is doing jui jitsu inside of me but I will be sad too.  This is probably the last time I will ever get to experience this and I LOVE it!  Yes, it gets uncomfortable and I have to get up a hundred times a night to pee but when I sit here and feel him moving around inside me - I forget about all that.
Sorry for the long post....  Did not mean for it to be that long but a lot has been going on......

28 Weeks

This week has been hectic....  Saturday morning I went to Jasper hospital first thing in the morning to do my 3 hour glucose test, since I had to fast for 8 hours prior I wanted to do it as soon as I woke up - thanks to my awesome step-mom I didn't have to go alone.  We got there and I registered and went to the lab.  They took my blood then had me drink the wonderful glucose drink, that stuff is AWFUL!  After I got that down I had to wait an hour and have my blood drawn again so while we waited we ran to Rural King to get my dogs some dog food - came back and got my blood drawn.  Wait another hour - this time we stayed there - get blood drawn for the 3rd time.  Wait another hour - we decided to run to the square in Jasper to this baby store that my step-mom likes only to find out that it has closed down... So we went to Sieberts and she bought some stuff for my dad.  Back to the hospital for the 4th and final blood draw!  3 hour glucose test complete!!  Now wait on results!!  :)  I spent the rest of the day with her - went to see my sister and nieces, JJ had a baseball game at 5, then went down to Monte's to see my DH.  After he got off work we went down to the river to see some friends that were camping and hang out.  It was an awesome night!  The moon was AMAZING!  Sunday I went and hung out at my dads cabin and helped plant flowers, anything to get out in the sun!  I am so PALE right now and my skin is breaking out so bad...  Worst part about being pregnant is the breakouts I have had!!  It wasn't this bad when I was a teenager!!  Haha.  Tuesday we had another baseball game and after that we had to get home and start getting the house ready for the carpet to be installed.  I thought I would have Wednesday to get that all done but DH was asked to work at the pizza place so we had to get as much as we could done after the game Tuesday - I have been tired since!!  Haha.   Yesterday my mom called me at work - I knew immediately that something was wrong!!  One of her yorkies got out of the house and ran down to the highway and got hit.... :(  It is amazing how attached to pets we can get.  She kept apologizing for calling me and crying and how it was just a dog but I totally understand - when something happens to either of my dogs I am going to be one heck of a mess!!  They are my girls, my babies!  I cry when I leave them to go on vacation!!   Haha.  So, I could relate.  She was blaming herself, she was the last one out the door.  But accidents happen...  I held it together until I got off the phone with her, then I broke down and cried - partially becuase I loved that dog but mostly becuase I couldn't handle hearing my mom SO upset!  I wanted to leave work right then and there and go to her.  So, when I got home I had already planned on going over there (she was working on baby shower invites and the invite she picked out she needed my picture for) but wasn't sure what to do...  She wanted to keep out plans so I went.. It was so strange walking into the house and not having Bella come barking..  I stayed at their house visiting most of the evening - DH was working, JJ was with his dad.  Once i got home I worked some more on getting the bedrooms ready for carpet!  It is getting installed this afternoon!  Can't wait!!  Next on the list - pick out bedding for the nursery so we can get that painted and ready!!  Ugh.  There just aren't a whole lot of CUTE boy beddings out there but I need to pick one - only a little over 11 more weeks at the most until we get to meet our "little" man!  Possibly 10!! :)
We are going on the Bourbon Trail in Kentucky with some friends tomorrow - I will post about that next week.

Oh, I almost forgot!  The dr office called yesterday - I passed my test!!  No gestational diabetes for this girl!!

May 3 Doctor Appt.

Little late as usual but I went to the doctor last Thursday, I was 27 weeks 4 days.  At this appointment DR wanted to do an ultrasound to check my cervix and do a growth scan on the baby.  My appointment was at 330 and I waited for almost an hour to even get back to the ultrasound room - but I did have my favorite ultrasound tech so that made it better.  She was so excited to see me.  She said I was actually on the other girls schedule but when she saw my name she said she thought if she hurried with her patient before me maybe she could get to me first. :)  Haha.  I just love her, when you have as many ultrasounds as I have had you tend to form a bond with the person that watches your baby grow with you! And that is exactly what she said as well, she loves seeing all her patients but there are some you see more and form a bond with and get even more excited to see them and their baby.  Anyways, we stopped on the way back to take my blood pressure and get my weight - blood pressure was good, I lost 1/2lb since I had been there a month ago....  I couldn't believe it.  My belly is growing so I figured I would have a gain, not a loss.  But she said it was nothing to worry about so I just went with it.  She did the growth scan first - baby was facing the wrong way so we couldn't get any really good pictures of his face.  She asked if I wanted to double check the sex of the baby but quickly said she couldn't cuz he had his legs crossed.  Haha.  Stinker!  She went about doing her measurements and asked how big dad was as a baby - my MIL had recently told me that he was pretty little but I couldn't remember exactly, just that he was 6 lbs something.  Then she asked how big I was - my mom was withe me so I asked her to be sure - I was 7lbs 6oz.   After this she kept doing her thing and measuring different parts of the baby and I was wondering to myself, why is she asking these questions???  AND then I found out why...  She said Baby Strange is currently measuring in the 94th percentile on size!  He was weighing 3.1 lbs - my Baby Bump app on my iphone says at 27 weeks he should be weighing 2 lbs!!!  FREAKING OUT!!!  JJ was 7lbs 9oz when he was born - that was big enough!!  Now I am laying here freaking out - she does a few more measurements for a second time just to check and make sure she didn't get it wrong the first time - nope, he is still showing the same size the second measurement as he was the first...  She did get a couple 3D pictures of part of his face - with the way he was laying and his hand/arm up by his face she couldn't get a really good pic but she did get a couple that I thought were cute.  In one he was making a face like he was frowning/crying...  It was SO cute!  She also said that she could see hair!!  JJ was bald until after he turned 1 so the fact that she could see hair and see quite a bit of it made me excited!    We got a picture of his toes and fingers, we could count all 5 on each of those!  It is amazing seeing such clear pictures of this little person growing inside of you.  Everytime I see him its like seeing him for the very first time! Amazing!  And I still sit here when he is moving around and kicking me mesmerized by the fact that I am pregnant and in no time at all I will be holding this little guy in my arms.  Still seems so surreal!
Back to the u/s....  After she was done with the growth scan she measured my cervix and said it was behaving!!  Yeah!!  This is a huge relief!  I have been so worried that it would start to cause problems and I would have to either go on bed rest or scary as it is to think about - go into labor early!  For now, looks like I can continue what I am doing and not worry about it. :)
After the u/s it was time to meet with my DR, have I told you how much I just love her!!  She is amazing!  She came in smiling really big saying she and Aly were just talking and Aly couldn't believe that little ol Kasey was carrying such a big baby!  Haha.  I said I was in shock!!  She said not to worry about it, she would keep an eye on it and not let him get TOO big...  She did say she would offer induction at 29 weeks since I have already had one baby as long as my cervix was dilating.  So, that made me feel a LITTLE bit better but not much!  Here she had wanted to do the growth scan because I have a 2 vessel cord and that can lead to growth restriction - guess right now we don't have to worry about that issue. :)  I had taken my 1 hour glucose the Saturday before my appt and she had the results.....I failed!!  :(  BUT only by 1 point, she said normally she wouldn't order the 3 hour test but since the baby was measuring so big and that is a sign of gestational diabetes she wanted me to go ahead and take the 3 hour test.. :( BUMMER!!  We talked for a little longer and she could tell that I was still completely freaked out about the size of the baby so we went back to that.  She looked at my chart and told me that my first u/s showed me being 5 days further along than I was - so she said if we went by that due date I would be due July 24 instead of the 29th and that would put the baby more around the range of 75% on size.  That made me feel a little better but still a little freaked out about having a big baby.  :)  I go back to the doctor next Thursday.  She wants to do another growth scan u/s when I am 34 weeks to see how the baby is measuring then. Hopefully he is measuring a little smaller but not too small.  I dont want to sound picky or anything - I think every pregnant woman wants the same thing...  I dont want him to be too small and have issues but also dont want him to be too big and have issues.  We all want our babies to be perfect...

27 Weeks

Today I am 27 weeks 4 days - 88 days to go!  According to my scales, I have gained about 16lbs... (That was just for my memory)  I can't believe how fast time is going!  I have so much to do before this little man gets here!  We are getting new carpet in our bedrooms - the guy came and measured last week and the carpet is suppose to be delivered in 7-10 days.  Once we get that taken care of I will be able to paint (I know, I should have painted and then got carpet)...  I still have not found baby bedding that I really like, boys just do not have a lot to choose from that is REALLY cute!  Girls, I would have a problem picking because there is so much I love!  I found one that I like for a boy but it is a little expensive so I am still looking...  :(
My mom's (my mom, step-mom, and MIL), my sister and best friend are planning me a baby shower! I am SO thankful for this!  My son is 11 years old and even though I am having another boy - I have NOTHING!!  After about 4 or 5 years, I got rid of everything.  I was sick of storing it and was not planning on having another child anytime soon so I got rid of EVERYTHING!
We have been super busy lately as I said before - work has been crazy(it is starting to settle down), Little League baseball opening day was this past Saturday, and it is warmer out so that means more work outside the house!! :)  I love this time of year!  Going to the ball field to watch my little man play! The smell of everything blooming! School coming to an end for the summer!!  That part is bitter sweet for me - the sweet part - no more homework, the bitter part - my son goes to his dads for half the summer...  I miss him like crazy when he is there!  He will be with me the second half of summer so when the baby come he will be home and we can spend some time together!
Hopefully I will get time to update tomorrow after my doctors appointment and then try to update once a week or so...  :)

Way behind on updating....

Wow, I never realized how hard it was to find time to sit down and write!!  But between work, home, family, sports, and just life in general I have had a hard time finding time to actually just write...  I have been busy at work, I am an IT person and they are doing a tech refresh (replacing old computers with new ones) and I have had to deal with that.  A few LATE nights at work!  I actually thought I would be able to do some blogging while sitting here at work that late when the deployment teams were here setting up the new systems but I was CRAZY busy! So - back to Baby Strange... :)
After my first doctors appointment on December 29 I went back every 2 weeks and had an ultrasound done to check my cervix and the ultrasound tech was so awesome!  Everytime she would spend a little extra time looking at the baby so I could see - it is amazing the changes 2 weeks can make.  I dont think she was suppose to but always said it was the least she could do since I had to come in every 2 weeks and she used the excuse that she was getting the heart rate for the doctor. :)   Eventually I will have to upload some of my ultrasound pictures I have.
I went to the doctor 5 times between December 29 and March 8 - everytime was the same drill.  Ultrasound to check my cervix and then see the doctor to find out how everything was going.   Everytime I went she was surprised at how well my cervix was holding up and I had no issues with anything else.  So, on March 8 we were going to be able to find out what we were having!!  Part of me did not want to find out and wanted to wait until we were in the delivery room BUT the OCD part of me knew there was no way I could plan for a baby and NOT know what he/she was!  Haha.  So, I knew I would have to find out - there was no other option for me. :)  That afternoon, DH, my son, and I all went along to find out what this little person inside of me was going to be....  I was so excited!  I have to admit, I was a little disappointed I had the same ultrasound tech everytime I had been there and REALLY liked here...  This time, I had the other tech they have there and was worrried I wouldn't like her as well and was looking forward to having the other girl since I had gotten to know her a little.  But, she was great too!  I was really happy with her.  She started out the u/s doing all the "boring" stuff as she called it - checking, measuring - and what seemed like FOREVER later she finally said, "OK, are you guys ready to find out what you are having?" Right away she could tell, we were having a baby BOY!!  There was no question, he was not a bit shy! Haha.  She said "I dont think we will be changing this one!" Meaning she was positive it was a boy and not mistaking - this freaked my son out!  Haha.  He thought she meant that this little baby boy could magically change into a girl between then and the time he was born.  Haha.  I had to explain that to him... :) I love how the mind of a child works!
So, after this appt Dr said my cervix still looked great so she was going to start treating me like a normal patient and I could come back in a month!!!  No more ultrasounds for a while...  She did say that when they did the ultrasound she found that the umbilical cord only had 2 vessels instead of 3...  This did not worry her since everything else they look at looked normal - but for me this was a huge OMG!  She said the only thing she is concerned with is me having a small baby because the 1 missing vessel could mean the baby gets less nutrients and doesn't get as big...  I have been trying to let this all not worry me since she doesn't seem worried but as a mother the only thing you really want for your baby is for them to be healthy..  After my doc appt I got on the internet and started looking at what it meant to have 2 vessels compared to the normal 3...  BIG mistake!!  So, I stopped and haven't looked again..  I have to trust in my doctor and most of all GOD that my little boy will be perfectly healthy.
I went back to the doctor on April 5 and had a "normal" patient visit...  Meaning no ultrasound... :( but she measured my belly - said I was actually measuring right on track if not a little big, this could be due to the fact that my due date by my last period and the measurements on the ultrasound are about a week different.... So, she said she would see me back in a month but this time wants to do an ultrasound to check my cervix and do a growth scan on the baby to make sure he was growing ok. :)  She also informed me this would be the last time I would be going 4 weeks between appts.

Baby Strange....First Doctor Appt

On December 29, 2011 we had our first doctor appointment.  I was very nervous..  I kept thinking what if something it wrong, or what if there is no heartbeat.  I was also a little nervous because I was going to a new doctor.  My OB/GYN that I had been seeing for years retired and I had to change doctors, just so happened that I hadn't yet been due for my yearly exam until December so I hadn't gotten the chance to meet her.  Well, I love her! She is young, very nice, and just amazing all around.  Anyways, we got there and got back to the room and talked for a while due to the fact that i was a new patient, she was trying to get caught up on my medical history.  I had to have a couple cervical biopsies a few years ago where they removed a small portion of my cervix - my previous doctor said this could cause issue with future pregnancies but he wasn't too concerned.  When I told her about these she said it wasn't something to be alarmed about but she would like to monitor me a little closer and have me come in for ultrasounds every 2 weeks to measure the length of my cervix.  Plus side, I get plenty of opportunities to see my little one growing.  Downside, that is a lot of doctors appointments.  But I didn't mind, I actually felt much better knowing that she was keeping an eye on it.
Below are two ultrasound photos from my first visit.  I was 9 weeks and 4 days.  Sorry they are sideways, they weren't on the file I had saved on my computer but showed up like that on here.  The first picture is a 4D picture.

Baby Strange - Telling Family

Well, waiting until December 29 to tell people did not work out!  Haha.  December 10 Eric went to Evansville with some friends to celebrate his birthday, I know I am a bad wife - I stayed home because I hadn't been feeling well and didn't want him worrying about me and not having fun.  So, that night I went to my moms to visit and she noticed I looked like I didn't feel well and asked if I stayed out to late the night before.  As soon as I told her no she asked if I was pregnant. I had to tell her. :) She was so excited.  She told my Step-dad.
The next day we had a Christmas dinner at the KofC in Loogootee and she told me I had to tell my sister...  So, my quest at keeping it quiet until my doctor appointment was slowly going down hill.  Haha.  The following weekend we had Christmas at my moms - EVERYONE there knew...  Thank you Mom. :) And she told her best friend...  And who knows who else she told.
We went to my husbands Christmas party and met up early with another couple to have drinks in their room before the party.  As we are in the car on the way there Eric says, "When people ask why your not drinking I am going to tell them you are pregnant."  "They won't believe me!" I tried to tell him just to say that I was driving and that was why.  Well, we get there and get to the room of our friends and we are immediately asked what we want to drink....  I said I was fine and was going to let it be.  Not my husband - "She can't drink, she's pregnant."  I get this look like is he just joking? I mean come on, when you are so happy you are pregnant and want to tell the world how do you keep a straight face and say yes he is joking....  I don't think he told anyone else that night. So by this time the list of people that knew was growing and I figured we had to tell the rest of our parents and Jayden soon before they heard it from someone else.
Christmas Eve - I got Jayden a small present and let him open it and on the tag I put To: Jayden From: Your Baby Brother/Sister.  He thought his dad had dropped this off at our house as his dad and step-mom had just had a baby a couple months ago.  I told him no, it wasn't his dad dropping it off.  Then the lightbulb clicked and he was just ecstatic!! The most precious face I could have seen.  With that we were left with telling my dad and step-mom and Eric's parents.  We were going to my dad's that night for Christmas with him so I bought baby's first Christmas ornaments for 2012 and wrapped it up.  When my dad opened it he said I should have let Sondra open it as she is a big ornament collector.  So, my plan didn't work too well and I had to kind of explain...  The next day we had Christmas with Eric's parents and this time I wrapped the ornament up and put To: Grandma & Grandpa From: Baby Strange.  His mom read the tag and started crying right away!  So there sat Eric's dad wondering what the heck was going on!  Once he got the back and read the card, he understood. While he was reading the card, Eric's sister called and his mom told her.  I say that one was a success!  I wish I would have had my camera out to record Eric's moms reaction - it was priceless!! I could go on and on but I got the important memories out there. :)
I know this isn't something that anyone else is probably interested in reading but it is something I wanted to remember.  So, if you are reading - Thanks!!  And sorry if my grammar/spelling is off.  I was in a hurry.

Baby Strange - Finding out I was pregnant...

This is going to be long so I will probably break it down into a few posts...  Sorry but I want to get caught up to today and then posts will be a lot shorter... :)
Where to start??  I guess June 2011...  Eric and I got married on June 4, 2011 in Destin, Florida and came back here and had a reception June 25, 2011 to celebrate with the family and friends that were not able to attend the wedding.  Shortly after that I talked to my new husband and we decided that we would start trying to make our perfect little family a little larger.  We had talked about this before and he wanted to wait a while, I wanted to start right away...   I mean, I had a 10 year old son... :) I did not tell anyone that I was stopping my birth control when I did, other than my husband, becuase I didn't want the whole "TRYING TO HAVE A BABY" hanging over my head and people always asking.  So, I decided I would stop taking my pill every day and see what God had planned for us.  I was very lucky, God had it in his cards for us to concieve without much wait and any problems.  Reading blogs of people that had been trying for month, or even years to have a baby with no luck really made me worry.  I mean, I knew I was "able" to have a baby, I have a 10 year old son but that is never a guarantee.  So, come mid-November I was celebrating my 30th birthday and my mom's retirement - we had a huge party for her the weekend after my birthday.   My sister and I planned and did everything for the party so I was extremely busy leading up to that. Everything went perfect and life settled down.  The next week was Thanksgiving and as Thanksgiving was approaching I thought to myself - I should be starting my period...  A couple days went by and nothing...  November 26 - I went to CVS and bought a home pregnancy test.  Got one with 3 tests in it because I thought there was NO way I was pregnant...  I went out that night with some friends - volunteered to be the DD, just in case. :)  And the next morning I took the test.  I didn't tell Eric I was taking it, I didn't want to get all excited and have a no.  After I took the test and waited in the bathroom for the results I just stood there with tears in my eyes as I watched those 2 little pink lines form in the windows of the test stick.  With my son, I took 4 tests before I believed the results.  Haha.  On November 27, 2011 I got to tell my husband that we were going to have a baby.    I told him I didn't want to tell ANYONE until after I had went to the doctor and made sure everything was ok.  In my mind I couldn't help but think - this was too perfect, something was going to happen.  Well, that evening he went to help out his friend at his pizza place and we were texting back and forth and I asked him if he was ok cuz he was REALLY quiet after I told him. He said he was but he had to tell his friend...  Haha.  Men, I swear.  I said ok but knew in my head this meant his friend would tell his wife so there would be 2 people that would know.  Not a big deal.  A couple nights later, he had to tell 2 of his other friends.  They had to come over and have a beer to celebrate.....  Now 6 people would know because they would tell their significant others and they are friends with my BEST friend so I had to tell her, I didn't want her to hear from someone else.  This brings our total to 8 (she would have to tell her boyfriend) people that are not suppose to know...
I had my yearly doctor appt scheduled for December 17 so I was thinking I wouldn't have to wait TOO long before the doctor could tell me things looked good so far.  I called into the office to double check, see if I needed to do anything and they said they would have to change my appt.  The doctor does not usually see you until you are around 9 weeks, I would only be about 7 if I kept my appt.  So, my doctor's appt was not until December 29 so I was trying to figure out how I was going to keep my husband from telling anyone else before then..

Act of Valor

So, it has been 2 weeks and I still have not gotten to post about baby...  I will do that soon, I mean that is the real reason I wanted to start blogging in the first place.  I want to make myself a journal of this experience and life in general...  Anyhow, last night my husband, son, & I went to the movies to see Act of Valor.  I know many women out there are probably not fans of the whole war type movies but this is a MUST see!!  The movie in general was very good but the fact that they have real Navy Seals acting in this movie just made it that much better.  It really puts it into a different catergory.  As I was telling my hubby after we got home - watching most war movies gets to me and makes me sit back and think about everything but this one was completely different.  The fact that I am pregnant and emotional may have also had something to do with it but I think I would have had the same reaction either way.  To see these guys act out something they have been faced with in real life - seeing their friends get shot, saying goodbye to their families, stepping in the line of fire, death...  Thank you for all you do so I can live the life that I live. I doubt anyone read any of this, and that is perfectly fine with me, but I won't say much more about it in case someone does stumble across it and wants to see the movie.  My only advice - make sure you have a kleenex!!

First post....

Well, I have followed blogs for quite sometime and always thought about starting my own but never actually got around to it....  Until now!  If anyone reads this bear with me while I figure it all out.  My main reason for doing this is for myself.  My son is going to be 11 years old in March and I can't believe how fast time has gone.  With my son turning 11 and a baby due the end of July I wanted to start writing some of this down.  Now, if no one reads this - oh well, I have it here for myself.  If someone stumbles across this and starts reading - I hope you enjoy...  Nothing too exciting - just trying to enjoy life and make the best of everyday with those I love.  Later this week I hope to upload some pictures and do a baby update.
