Well, waiting until December 29 to tell people did not work out! Haha. December 10 Eric went to Evansville with some friends to celebrate his birthday, I know I am a bad wife - I stayed home because I hadn't been feeling well and didn't want him worrying about me and not having fun. So, that night I went to my moms to visit and she noticed I looked like I didn't feel well and asked if I stayed out to late the night before. As soon as I told her no she asked if I was pregnant. I had to tell her. :) She was so excited. She told my Step-dad.
The next day we had a Christmas dinner at the KofC in Loogootee and she told me I had to tell my sister... So, my quest at keeping it quiet until my doctor appointment was slowly going down hill. Haha. The following weekend we had Christmas at my moms - EVERYONE there knew... Thank you Mom. :) And she told her best friend... And who knows who else she told.
We went to my husbands Christmas party and met up early with another couple to have drinks in their room before the party. As we are in the car on the way there Eric says, "When people ask why your not drinking I am going to tell them you are pregnant." "They won't believe me!" I tried to tell him just to say that I was driving and that was why. Well, we get there and get to the room of our friends and we are immediately asked what we want to drink.... I said I was fine and was going to let it be. Not my husband - "She can't drink, she's pregnant." I get this look like is he just joking? I mean come on, when you are so happy you are pregnant and want to tell the world how do you keep a straight face and say yes he is joking.... I don't think he told anyone else that night. So by this time the list of people that knew was growing and I figured we had to tell the rest of our parents and Jayden soon before they heard it from someone else.
Christmas Eve - I got Jayden a small present and let him open it and on the tag I put To: Jayden From: Your Baby Brother/Sister. He thought his dad had dropped this off at our house as his dad and step-mom had just had a baby a couple months ago. I told him no, it wasn't his dad dropping it off. Then the lightbulb clicked and he was just ecstatic!! The most precious face I could have seen. With that we were left with telling my dad and step-mom and Eric's parents. We were going to my dad's that night for Christmas with him so I bought baby's first Christmas ornaments for 2012 and wrapped it up. When my dad opened it he said I should have let Sondra open it as she is a big ornament collector. So, my plan didn't work too well and I had to kind of explain... The next day we had Christmas with Eric's parents and this time I wrapped the ornament up and put To: Grandma & Grandpa From: Baby Strange. His mom read the tag and started crying right away! So there sat Eric's dad wondering what the heck was going on! Once he got the back and read the card, he understood. While he was reading the card, Eric's sister called and his mom told her. I say that one was a success! I wish I would have had my camera out to record Eric's moms reaction - it was priceless!! I could go on and on but I got the important memories out there. :)
I know this isn't something that anyone else is probably interested in reading but it is something I wanted to remember. So, if you are reading - Thanks!! And sorry if my grammar/spelling is off. I was in a hurry.
Aww, this was really sweet! I'm glad ur documenting everything!!!
